Interested in Attending as an Author?
Before deciding to attend the Lexington Book Festival, please read the information provided here. If you have other questions before applying, please email us at authors@lexingtonbookfestival.org.
Authors often work in isolation, and one of our goals is to connect authors with readers and book lovers of all ages. Rather than simply selling or signing a book, the festival aims to build connections and leave both authors and readers with renewed excitement about the future of reading. We are not an academic conference or a book fair, in which the primary goal is to sell books.

Pig City Books is the sole bookseller at the festival—authors on our schedule may not sell books on their own (unless you purchase a booth to sell your own self-published books). Therefore, if your greatest priority is selling books, this festival may not be for you. Event venues are smaller, with maximum seating around 150 people, but attendees are always excited and engaged.

As of this time, we are only accepting traditionally published authors. If you are a self-published author, you are welcome to apply as a vendor and may share your work that way.
Speakers and authors may be given a stipend as donations and grants allow, but this is not guaranteed. All attendees are encouraged to explore Lexington and all that it has to offer.
